You are a peregrine on the granite of El Capitan, nine hundred metres above the valley floor. Hold Fly to beat your wings. Let go and you glide. Hold Dive and you stoop — the fastest animal alive, three hundred kilometres an hour, straight down the face. Two thousand metres above the meadow, a kingdom of pale towers stands on a shelf of cloud — and there is a way up to it.
El Capitan launches you off the summit. The Forest starts you low over El Cap Meadow among the pines. Cloud Kingdom drops you straight in at the Gate, two kilometres up. From the valley you climb to it the slow way, circling inside one of the three sky columns. All three run the same pre-flight check first.
